The “Festival of Lights” will transform the Palace Square

A new season of the «Festival of Lights» will take place on the first weekend of November at the Palace Square. Citizens and guests of St. Petersburg will see the unique light performances, created by the modern 3D mapping technologies. Two days the entire ensemble of the Palace Square will be illuminated by video mapping installations. The show will take place every 15 minutes and will consist of two performances. Multimedia performance «1917» dedicated to the celebration of 100th anniversary of the October Revolution will be shown on the facade of the General Staff Building. This creative interpretation of the historical documents and journalistic articles will guide the audience through the key events of 1917. After that, the audience will become a jury of the competition of projection mapping artists. Five teams from Russia, Italy, France, Spain and Poland will show their view on St. Petersburg in five different video projections inspired by the well-known songs about the city. The winner will be chosen through online public voting.
